The weather is beautiful today, at least for now. I woke up at 8ish got out of bed and started my saturday routine a la spring break packing and cleaning. I dunno why, but for some reason today I have a ton of energy. I kept dreaming about next week and all the cool stuff we’re going to do.
I spoke with Kyle and John on the road today, at 1230ish they were in Upton, KY and having a blast. I wish you both safe travels and a good trip. See you on Monday morning!
More to come later this weekend before I leave including exclusive artwork from Ben!
Today was a very long day for some reason, here’s the run down:
I woke up around 10ish this mroning and read the morning paper. Finally got my act together and headed to school around 130ish, that’s where everything kinda got weird to me. I went straight to the library to work on my marketing paper/presentation that has been horrible thus far. I finally got a study room to have some peace and quiet and get things done. I almost got my paper done in the library, just a bit of cleaning left to do. I headed out to get a bite to eat and wash my car. When I got back I met Kyle and John in the cafeteria, things were weird for some reason. It wasn’t them, it was me. For some reason over the past few days things just haven’t seemed right with me. Being around people is just a bit odd lately. I dunno. Anyways I went to classes tonight, boring presentations mostly, thank God we got out early.
I came home, finished the paper entirely, got everything printed out and now I’m here.
I honestly don’t know what’s wrong but even as I sit here and type this, somethin’s just not quite right today…
OK so today I took the day off of work with every intention of going to school early and working my butt off on projects for the coming semester. Guess what, I did it! That’s right, right now I’m a week ahead in every class. It seriously feels so good not to be procrastinating this semester. I may start taking Mondays off regularly and locking myself in the library more. I got seriously 3 papers done today. I’m set until my Feb. 8th presentation. Also I’ve finally got my binder system setup for this semester, all my classes are in one binder and all my marketing stuff in setup so I can find all that crap easily, getting organized was the best thing I ever did in college. It seriously saves me so much time, looking through folders and keeping stacks of paper was never my thing, now I just punch some holes and I know where everything is. Woo hoo!
In other news: John, Orion and I headed out to Starbucks last night to hang out. I taught John how to do Sudoku. I think he’s hooked. We got Great Value Beef Jerky too, we saved a buck over Jack’s Links (our usual brand) and honestly it wasn’t that bad. Buying generic beef jerky at WalMart at 1130 on a Sunday, I really do live the life, don’t I? Also the last bit for the day is I think ball will be permanently moved to Wednesday for a variety of reasons including, school, girls, church, and life in general, Sundays just don’t work that well anymore.
Anyway I must get on to other things, in the words of John, “Later Shibbys”
Well the first day of the new semester is in the can. Here’ s a quick recap:
Got up, went to work… it was work, what more can I say… Got to school about 30 minutes earlier than I thought I would. I always thought it took much longer to get from Westfield to Kokomo than it did today. I sat around with John and Kyle for a bit waiting on class to start. Go Pepperdine! We also discussed “that guy” on the way to class. Arrived at my class on time, no problems there.
Marketing, first class. No biggie right? WRONG! This class is the capstone marketing class, that is to say that everything you were to have learned in the last 3 marketing classes will be used and you will be required to apply it in everything you do. Unfortunately for me I have only taken one other marketing class, the intro one. The prof had a talk with me and said I should be fine and that he felt that my work in the intro class showed that I can do ok in this one. Let’s hope so. Ben thought I was freaking out a bit while we were going over the syllabus I’m sure. 7-9 papers, 1-5 pages and 2 papers, 7-8 pages due this semester in one class. Actually I just spent the last hour or so writing the first one that is due on Wednesday. If this class doesn’t kill me I’m sure that I’ll learn more here than anywhere else. A good prof and a good topic.
The last class of the night was not as exciting however. IB2, it really should be called IB1a though. It is seriously just the same class that I took last spring with a new book. It’s required though, it too shall pass.
So that’s my day thus far, nothing too exciting really once I look back on it. Only one class tomorrow though, updates to follow.
Last night was our Christmas thing with all the guys and girls. All the guys met up at Texas Roadhouse and all the girls went to Applebees and then we met up at Franki’s house to watch a movie.
John ordered the 32oz Sirloin. This thing was huge, not just huge though, ginormous! This thign was the size of a pot roast basically… He ate it all. Including some ice cream on the way back to Franki’s! Good job John.
Jake rode the saddle because his birthday is coming up on Sunday.
After we finally got done watchign John eat we headed back to Franki’s. Ben got his iPod. For those of you that don’t know, Ben’s iPod was stolen from his car awhile back. We took up a collection and bought him a new one. A truly classy thign since most of the guys don’t even own one themselves and those little buggers are expensive!
It was great night really. The movie was funny, the friends were great. A night that really personifies what the holidays are really about. Friends, food (tons of it), and good memories. I had a great time guys, I hope you all did too.
There’s a ton of pics to post from last night so here’s a link to the Flickr site. Christmas 2005 slideshow on Flickr Click the link and you can see a slideshow of everything, if you want the full size ones, let me know and I’ll email them to ya.
Yes that’s our boy John again doing something dangerous… He’s up about 15 feet in the air on wrestling mats… How he lived I don’t know…
Another tea lost to the floor.
John lost another one tonight….
