Life or Something Close

I love America

Only in this country can our president be able to describe all the regular phases of matter when discussing our energy problems:
One of the great sources of energy for the future is liquefied natural gas. There's a lot of gas reserves around the world. Gas can only be transported by ship, though, when you liquefy it, when you put it in solid form.

This is from the press conference last night that he gave in prime time. Linky
America is wonderful. Liquids are gas, but sometimes they are also solid... but only on ships.

Professor Bill shared this with the class awhile back...

The Road Not Taken
Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could no travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads onto way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling you thing with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This is my new food pyramid. Sadly I do eat this way... I've got to get healthy this summer, more working out and less taco bell...

A weird weekend

Wow, as you can see from the picture below it's been a weird weather weekend. Let me start with that, Friday while in Castleton, we were leaving Best Buy before we could make it out the door, we heard the tornado sirens going off aroundthe mall. We decided that it was best to wait perhaps. I called home to see if I could get any idea about what was happening. Fortunately I found out that the radar all around us was entirely purple. Not red, no that would be good actually, but purple, the color that only shows up when you're about to start screaming "Auntie Em, Auntie Em!" and your house is about to fly away. So we hung in Best Buy for awhile, finally decided to make a run for it to the car. I turned on the radio to find out that there were 3 funnel clouds all around us. We thought about heading north, but then we found out that that's exactlywhere they were heading, so we hung out and let everything pass by. Finally started heading north and saw all the hail that had fallen. (See pic below) Finally got some place with free Wi-Fi and saw the radar. Wow. Cant believe it all went through like that. Anyways, the rest of the night we just hung out and then I went home.
Saturday was another exciting weather day; snow was the order of business though. I went to Erins and chilled for the evening, nothing big, on the way there it was spitting just a bit of snow and cold as heck. As I left, it was snowing a bit harder. I was on my way to Tha Roots in Kokomo to see Jakes show. Salems Voice was having their CD release party. A good time, glad to hear them again and good to see a lot of people there. After the show, we went outside and started throwing snow balls. Yes, enough snow had fallen that we could make snow balls. The roads werent really slick, but it was snowing. In April!, nearly May. Gotta love Indiana weather.
Well I should get to studying, theres only a week left of school and then one day of Finals. Catch yall later

This is 96th and Keystone around 6PM on Friday night... Tons of hail, a few funnel clouds. We had a great night together, but definitely had a few scares.

I'm glad our taxes are spent well

I saw this today on my way to work. It's just a few block from me. On an Airforce base! A government installation! This is what I'm paying for? OK I'd better get back to work... it's a busy day.

It's that time of year again...

You can tell when the school year is almost over, kids are just checking out left and right, ready to just get of school and start the summer. Term papers and projects are on everyone's mind, but in truth you can tell that they are really just counting the days until their last final is over. Moods are up, it's hard not to be happy on a dady liek today with the sun shinning, the cool breeze blowing adn the sound of children playing in the child care playground. No one is really in class, the seats are pretty empty really.
Sorry for the recent lack of postings and podcasts. I've been just as busy as any other college student these days. Two group projects and a term paper to do. And then today I just figured out that I have all 4 of my finals on the same day. Suck! I'm ready to be done. Ready to get to work, ready to make some money.
I'm sure I should write more, but I'm in class right now and I should probably pay attention.

Another Boring Sunday

I'm watching The Simpsons... I psnet most of the day studying, as usual. It's been a pretty boring day really, freakin hot in my house as usual, old people don't like the air apparently. I'm heading out ther Erin's in a bit, going to spend the night so I can get to work early so i can leave early, so I can get to IUk and see Jake play. If you're around, be in the Cole room around 345 tomorrow and check it out. Maybe I'll podcast on the way down there tonight or even at the show tomorrrow.... we'll see. I just wanted to post something so that you'd all know I'm still alive. School is almost done and I can't wait, I need more money and I'm sick of school in general...later

I hate dialup...

OK so after spending about the last hour and half looking for any reason that I could find that my internet wasn't working, my g-ma asked me if it could be Comcast's fault... we dammit if she wasn't right. After dialing the Comcast helpline, pressing 1 about 12 times and shamefully admitting my ignorance, Comcast told me that their high-speed service is out across the state of Indiana. So thankfully I've saved my old Juno account, and I'm online. Dreadfully slow, but I'm on. So I'm here, albeit a little shamed... New 'cast tomorrow night, if the high-speed is back up. The term papers are getting close btw...

Man I've been busy

So the last fews days have eebn pretty busy for me. Actually Im' the middle of studyign right now to quite honest. Its that time of year where all the profs decide to remember that they assigned group projects, the semster is almost over, and they haven't actually given out the requirements yet. So I've got two projects to be working on right now. i must say that overall I hate group projects, I feel like a lot of the time I'm always just to obusy to find time to meet wtih my gorup adn then when we do meet, we dont' get that much accomplished because somone (usually me) doesn't want to be there and just wnats to leave.
Everything else in life is going OK i guess, I'm sick as a dog right now, can't breathe through my nose and all that good stuff... Hope to do a podcast tonight, you cna all hear how lovely I sound :)
