What do you want for lunch?

So its another Monday at work, busy but not entirely so. I’m working, but not entirely so. I’m debating the merits of the Roomba and power consumption slightly on Twitter, keeping up on the news and jamming to some old tunes.

ketchup.jpgWe had an install in Kokomo this morning. Since the crew was coming back around lunchtime that meant it was the perfect opportunity to get Louie’s for lunch. Bakes. There’s really no good way to describe it, a hamburger rolled like a hot dog, simmered in sauce, put on a bun with chili sauce, mustard and onions, served hot and greasy. The true measure of a good bake is when the grease goes all the way through the wax paper and stains the counter. Mmm-hmmm, that’s good stuff!

I’m taken back to the days. Those days. Working downtown and walking down to Louie’s old store on my lunch. Passing the lawyers and bankers to sit at the counter and be served by Louie’s granddaughters who were either just old enough or nearly so, staring just a little too long at them. The times getting a coke in a bottle and spending less than five bucks on lunch. I’m not talking about 40 years ago, I’m talking about 4 or 5 years ago. Those were the days.

So it’s late afternoon now, I’ll be leaving for the game soon and then to relax on the couch. It’s been an eventful day, I’m full of bakes and wonderment about the looming “snow storm” we have coming.

Last time there was “a huge freakin’ blizzard coming,” it turned out to be about 2 inches of heavy wet slush, I went to work and school was only delayed a few hours. Tonight is another of the same, instead of making huge preparations, I’m planning on being at work on time, only taking a few minutes to clean off the car and not worrying about traffic being snarled across the countryside.

Dear Mr. Weatherman,
Make up your mind about the snow, is it coming, how much, when, and when will it stop?

Thanks, you’re friend
Mike

I’ve posted long enough today I suppose. I’m not saying I’m going to try to post more, I’d just end up not posting and looking like a liar. This way I only look like a slacker.

A good lunch today

I’m a bit late in posting this, but I must comment that we had a really good lunch today, Jake, John, Alex, Ben and I all headed downtown to Louie’s. Man if you’ve never had a coney or bake you don’t know what your missing. Good stuff, cheap too, I spent about $5 for 3 and a large coke.
We walked in and sat at the counter, placeed our order and through some mixup even though I ordered first, I had to wait like 10 minutes for my food, everyone else had theirs in less than a minute (Louie’s in notoriously fast). I finally got my food and enjoyed the goodness that only Louie’s can bring. It was kinda nice sitting at the counter, getting our food and just kind of enjoying the day I guess.
The bad thing about Louie’s in the after-effects… Pepto won’t help and Tums would be a joke. It’s great going down, but man… in the end… bad news.
I’m just chillin’ at home now, watching MNF and waiting on the tiem to be late enough to go to bed. A sad existence.

Another Wonderful Weekend…

I must say that the last few weeks have been some of the most amazing ever, it’s finally summer and we’re finally doing stuff. Lets see where to start, Friday we went out to dinner and then over to Kyle’s nothing too exciting, but fun nonetheless. On Saturday I watched my friend sell his soul to the Guitar Center in Castleton for an amp. A nice one, but holy crap, it was freakin’ expensive. Then Erin and I went out to see Harry Potter with her cousins, good times. Stupid window. Then we went to the hot tub and just relaxed and stuff, parents made us dinner, can’t be a good bloody steak. After watching my first John Wayne movie, I finally went home. Sunday we went back down to Castleton, to the Mongolian BBQ. After figuring out that downtown was a bust and that we were pretty much bored, I was finally excited to see the fireworks. You see to some people the fireworks are just that fireworks. But to me they actually mean something. I feel like it’s actually important to see them each year, I can’t’ explain why or what, but this year with Matt gone made it all the more important to me. He’s called a few times lately, all appears to be well, he’ll be home in like 60 days or something and I honestly can’t wait.
You know what else was great about this weekend? The fact that I had yesterday off too! Didn’t do anything. Well anything important anyways, just played some golf and washed the car. It was pretty cool. It’s nice to be able to turn off your phone and just kick back for the day. We went lifting last night…. holy hell. I didn’t’ lift that much, but we played ball before that and I don’t’ think I’ve ever sweated so much in my life. The crazy thing is that I think I actually lost 2 lbs in the process. I weighed myself on Saturday at 172 and now I’m 170. Of course I realize that 2 pounds could be from the fact that I didn’t eat before I got weighed or something, but still, it’s cool. Now it’s time to bulk up.
I dunno what is going on now, but I am just freakin’ happy all the time. Erin has really just came into my life and made everything wonderful. This weekend is going to be great too; we’re going to the Dunes to see her friends and stuff. I can’t wait.
Sometimes just waiting is the best thing you can do, out with the old, in with the new. Thanks for all you’ve done, perhaps in the future we can help each other again.

Monday is over… kinda I guess

This is our theme for the week so far...It’s late we just got home from clubbin… well we went to go clubbin downtown and didn’t find anything. We did end of at one place… some electronic piece of crap bar thingy… Then we walked around town and junk… Orlando isn’t a bad town, just a bad one for spring break I guess… We’re going out tomorrow to check out the town a little better in the day time and see if we can’t find something that will be better. Today was kind of a dull day I guess you could say. It rained… but I hear that at home they are getting 3 to 5 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow so it’s all good. We went to a mall and junk, I bought a new coat which I really like but it’s probably something I could have gotten at home. I think one thing that we’re all forgetting is that we’re here to just have fun and goof around, we don’t’ have to plan everything and all go the same place all at the same time, I think I’m just going to start realizing and going my own way with stuff… too much drama tonight that’s for sure. I could write more probably and I probably should but I need to go back and join the gang now I suppose, I’ve kind of enjoyed just sitting here alone with my music on and enjoying a frosty beverage… 🙂 anyways though I’ll write more later when I have time… Most likely tomorrow night…

I just got back from emmy’s… a pretty good evening I must say. First we went to CC so she could spend her gift cards on a new phone and VCR had to believe that people still use those things but I still have a few tapes that I like to watch now and then I guess too. Then we went to Ribfest downtown… A bust to say the least… Just food and a ton of people… Yea… We went to Girton’s well did a drive by actually… No one was there hardly so we just stayed clear of it and went to her house to play Life… I like it , but I like the old version better… It was harder and stuff I think. Then we just chilled and watched TV… I did get a new golf club and i’m so excited to try ti it out… I really just like it in general…. Oh well time for bed.. See you all later
